After receiving my diploma in computer science (Dipl.-Inform.) from University of Dortmund, Germany in 2005, I joined ETH Zurich in Zurich, Switzerland where I defended my PhD (Dr. sc. ETH) in April 2009. Between June 2009 and October 2011, I held two postdoctoral research positions, first at INRIA Saclay Ile-de-France in Orsay, France in the TAO team and second at LIX, Ecole Polytechnique in the sysmo team and in the CNRS-Microsoft chair "Optimization for Sustainable Development (OSD)".
Since November 2011, I have been a permanent researcher at Inria. From 2011 till 2016 I was with the INRIA Lille - Nord Europe research center and since October 2016 I have been attached to the Saclay - Ile-de-France research center.
My research interests are focused on stochastic adaptive blackbox optimization, in particular in evolutionary multiobjective optimization (EMO), theoretical aspects of indicator-based search, and numerical benchmarking.
